Mondiali Antirazzisti 2010 was held in 7-11 July, took place in Casalecchio Di Reno, Bologna.

“Rosarno, town in the district of Reggio Calabria. 15.000 inhabitants gathered in a plain 6 kilometres far from the sea. Here, on January 2010, exploded what Italian media defined “the revolt of immigrants”: a manifestation of 1.500 foreign workers, all employed in harvesting of vegetables and oranges in the plain of Gioia Tauro. The protest born because of the wounding of some migrants, with an air gun, caused by some local people. Behind the news item, it remains unsolved the “usual” situation of illegality in which are obliged to live many migrants coming in Italy: a work force essential for the country, often managed by organized crime, who obliged them to live in subhuman and almost slavery condition. A population of submerged people that Italian right parties would point at as the cause of Italian illegality.
Aware that can not exist equality without shared rights, Mondiali Antirazzisti’s organisers decided to dedicate the XIV edition of the international antiracist celebration to the theme of the rights. “Equal rights for all” is the slogan with which we welcome everybody. The path of this Mondiali Antirazzisti edition is based on the principle of fight, through sport, for the recognition of citizenship to everybody lives in a country. Mondiali Antirazzisti wants to promote the adoption of ius soli, that foresees the citizenship right to who is born in a specific country, in opposition to the ius sanguinis, that recognizes citizenship basing on the ownership of citizenship rights by one or both parents of the person.
This year too Mondiali Antirazzisti wants to be a model image of sharing and multiculturalism. It will do while in South Africa will play Fifa World Cup (that from the Mondiali’s field will be possible to follow live). This is an ideal brige with the most popular sport event of the world, also showing own deep diversity with commercial and media organized sport logics. A particular focus will be, on the sexual trafficking of women and children, often conducted by organized crime, beside big sport events as Football Word Cup or Olympic Games.
According to what done on past editions, Mondiali Antirazzisti 2010 will continue its engagement in fight against homophobia. Alson in this edition there will be workshops and initiatives, dislocated inside the festival in a multifaceted and multiform way, organized by association that in Italy and abroad fight for the right for free sexual orientation.
As usually, Mondiali Antirazzisti will bring high its engagement for ecology. Also this year will be promoted the recycling with a specific collection. Last years this practice reached the maximum of 60%. An engagement for ecology going on despite the diffiulties, economics too, because the firm responsible for litters management with us, obliges us to pay much more to differentiate the collection. This is not nice, but in spite of everything we go on the reaffirm, in spite of any economic interest, the attention of Mondiali Antirazzisti on environment.
Talking about economy… this year’s edition of Mondiali Antirazzisti is in deep water. Last year two violent cloudbursts stroke Mondiali’s field, determining hard damages on structure and the lost on income of the two days. As everybody knows, Mondiali Antirazzisti is a non commercial festival: is not required a ticket entrance, the concerts are free and food and beverage are sold at “subsidized prizes”. Last year events determined an hard deficit that organisers tried to repair, without violating the spirit of the festival. So, to preserve this initiative, we ask to everybody to give a strong sigh of attachment to manifestation an its values, giving a small contribute to the cashes or in the administration office. Fight for the rights, this time, runs through the concrete support of everybody.”
